Yep it is official!  The Tragically Hip are getting a street named after them.  Kingstons website has the whole story.  Hope they make a few backup street signs.  They will be stolen for sure!

Getting Real in 2012

That is my new years resolution.  Sounds simple enough right?  Real food.  From scratch.  Cutting out artificial stuff our body does not need.  Less sugar.  I did a pantry purge in January and discovered that the canned noodles I regularly feed my youngest has LIQUIFIED SUGAR as one of the top ingredients!!  So we are commited to the change.  Well I am, so my girls and hubby are by default!

A big help in this new way of life is the website Once A Month Mom (OAMM).  Tricia and her crew are hosting the Get Real 2012 school.  There are monthly goals and support to help you make the change. 

A big fear of mine is home made bread.  Seems silly I know.  Its the yeast!  It seems so darn fussy.  Well I am happy to say that I am taking baby steps towards over coming my fear.  Tonight, to celebrate St Valentines day we made heart shaped pizzas.  SUCESS!!  The crust was home made and delicious.  Artisan bread is next!!  Here is the recipe from OAMM. 

Canada Sings Season 2 Kicks Off Production

Canada Sings is currently in production with 12 new teams and a fresh face on the judging panel!! 

Returning judges Jann Arden (Love Jann Arden in anything she does) and Rob Van Winkle (Ice Ice Baby) will be joined by new judge Lauriann Gibson.  I already Google Imaged her name.  Yeah, I do not recognize her either.  Canada Sings is worth the watch to see the teams transform from wannabees to a performing machine.  This season will feature some of my co-workers.  I am excited and proud for them all.  Their choice of charities is the Alberta Childrens Hospital.
