It is Friday! The Rideau Canal officially opens for skating today! The NCC has opened up a 2.2 km stretch of the canal from Bank Street to the Pretoria Bridge. My kids are anxious to get out on the canal. It is a favorite part of our winter here in Ottawa.
A fun part of skating on the canal is the reward of a Beaver Tail at the end of the skate. So in honor of the opening of the canal I am sharing a photo of a Cinnamon Sugar Beaver Tail. No drooling on the screen.

ReplyDeleteSkating on the canal in Ottawa is on my bucket list actually. I've never heard of Beavertails (does that make me a bad Canadian?) but it seems like even more incentive!

ReplyDeleteI'm not sure I should admit this, but I've actually never had a Bevertail. I hadn't even heard of them until the past year or so. (Wait, please don't kick me out of Canada!)
