It is that time of year. Resolution time! This year I really wanted to focus on the health of myself and my family. My kids are really good eaters. They choose healthy items to snack on and for meals. They are only 5 and 10 so I believe we have taught them well. My husband and I are not as good at making those healthy choices.
The one problem area for me is portion size. The Precision Pro Digital Kitchen Scale has helped me see how many calories I am consuming per portion. I had a choice of 3 snacks. I weighed them and looked up the calories in my booklet.
Raspberries: 44g x 0.52 = 22.88 calories
Cashews: 50g x 5.74 = 287 calories
Mandarin: 63g x 0.53 = 33.39 calories
The cashews are easier to grab and go but now I can see at what cost! Better to take the raspberries and/or the mandarin.
Overall this is a welcomed addition to my kitchen. It is a great tool to start to help me on keeping my New Years Resolution!

ReplyDeleteI would love to win the Precision Pro Digital Kitchen Scale. I have always wanted one for not only weighing kitchen items but for also weighing small packages. I like to send little things to my granddaughters and always have to take them into the post office to figure out postage because it depends on weight and size. This would be so much handier.
